In 2019 the first Lost World Short Film Festival took place in Paleochora. Although the festival is still in its infancy its aim is to become a hotspot must do for any filmmakers who wish to meet and combine their love of film, networking, brainstorming as well as enjoying all the amazing things that Paleochora has to offer.
One of the aims of the festival is to showcase Paleochora as an ideal location for future projects such as films, short stories or documentaries. There is a good chance some past attendees have already lined up filming in our beautiful region. The Festival is designed to compliment the laid back tone and chilled back nature one experiments when coming to Paleochora, so expect less glitz and glamour and more of a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
The entire team that makes up the Festival organizing committee is made of purely volunteers, film enthusiasts and film professionals. This is such an amazing initiative and as it is purely a non-funded community intiave it relies entirely on donations for all operation and running costs. People are welcome to support and donate to the festival to keep this amazing idea alive and help it flourish
